Eczema is a skin condition that makes a person feel itching, it causes inflamed and red skin, which gets dry. It is the common problem in children but it could be found in adults as well. Eczema mostly breaks out during winter as the air is dry.

Sometimes, eczema could be very irritating that it causes sleeping problems. When you have eczema you might experience the following symptoms.

Eczema is also called atopic dermatitis. Atopic happens when someone is allergic to particular things such as pollens. The term dermatitis is used to describe inflamed skin.

Children who become prone to eczema would most probably have hay fever or asthma. Different stimulators could cause eczema breakouts, moreover, it is usually said that it could be passed through genetics. Although, there is no complete cure still there for long-standing eczema. But there are tips that you can follow to fight the problems.

Use a Dense Moisturizer

Your skin will need more moisture when you have eczema. However, people with this problem are suggested to use the moisturizer right after they take a shower or bath. Lotions could not work effectively, however, people are recommended to use petroleum jelly instead.

It is better to consult with the doctor if you are feeling severe itching. But mostly, a cream containing hydrocortisone are helpful in this case.

Drink More Water

When you keep your body hydrated, your skin will automatically get hydrated. Usually, 8 glasses of water in a day is preferred, which keeps the skin moisturized. Eight glasses mean you can add hot chocolate, tea, coffee, your favorite juices, or other beverages.

Use Mild Soaps

When you have eczema, your skin would be sensitive, however, you are highly recommended to avoid soaps and other bathing items that carry unnecessary ingredients. Search for products that are free from alcohol, fragrance, and dye. Moreover, harsh soaps such as laundry detergents are also suggested to avoid. Get the detergent that is formulated for sensitive skin.

Use Vitamin D Supplements

When children are treated with Vitamin D supplements, they played an effective role in controlling the symptoms of eczema. They are said to be the best remedy to improve eczema breakouts. Vitamin D supplements are inexpensive, moreover, stimulate the production of vitamin D.

Avoid Hot Baths

In winter, people are recommended to avoid hot baths as they can dry out the skin more. Instead of hot baths, you can take bath with warm water or try to take showers less frequently. Moreover, you can add moisturizer to the water to avoid excessive dryness.
